The Great Hall

  The Great Hall is 40 feet long and 20 feet wide. At its west end is a massive fireplace with raised hearth, stretching the full two-story height of the room. It is built of Carleton Peak granite, a stone noted for its high crystalline content, crystals that give it a sparkle which knowledgeable people have recognized from far across the room. The quarry from which the granite was taken has been closed, so there will be no more Carleton Peak fireplaces.
